I was very honoured to be the first guest on my chum Dan Alatorre‘s new show, Writer Rants, to talk about PorterGirl books First Lady Of The Keys and The Vanishing Lord. Here are some edited highlights; whilst almost two hours of Daniel talking about how great I am might be good for my ego, no one really wants to listen to that. But what you might want to listen to, however, are insights into how I built up the Old College world and developed the characters, the truth about what really happened at Cambridge University and how I fell in love at first sight at the Royal Opera House…

that was an insightful insight and glad to hear my years of thigh work might not be wasted… can’t wait for the TV debut mind you… who do you have in mind as Deputy Head Porter? Olivia Coleman as Head of Catering
Thigh work is never wasted, my dear chap! Oooh Olivia Coleman would be absolutely perfect. I would hope our own Paul Butterworth would retain the role of Head Porter, but I doubt I would have much say over such things. The important thing for me is to just keep writing the books and admiring fine thighs π
Very sound ambitions I’d say
All comments well-earned Lucy. Glad to see you getting credit
Keep on keeping on
Roger
Thanks Roger, I am very grateful for all the support, it means a lot. Rest assured, I shall not rest. Have a super evening my dear fellow.
Just a smidge of time off for rest and refit?
You have a good evening too Lucy.
Well, maybe just a smidge, if you insist π
