Lucy Brazier is a British writer, trying to live a quiet life in middle England. Now in her 40s, she has been writing since a very young age, which she finds annoyingly clichΓ©d. She was inspired to try writing β€˜properly’ in her teens after reading Oscar Wilde at school and his works remain a strong influence. Lucy also has a great passion for James Joyce and has written books on both Finnegans Wake and Ulysses. She would love to write her own post-modern stream-of-consciousness novel, but is far too introverted and polite.

Aside from writing, Lucy loves cricket, food (both the cooking and the eating of), tea, food, the city of Seville, naps and food again. Having written seven books, she says she is unlikely to write anymore, but probably will. Lucy is very small in real life.

Fascinating writing. I am most intrigued and will be drifting around your blog to unearth more of this fine writing. I arrived her simply because you liked one of my posts….kindness returned and a mighty fine decision that was….alas for you…I am now following you πŸ™ƒ

Although, that’s sounds very stalker….clarity….following your blog πŸ‘»

That it is, one uses is it most frequently and in particular when matters pertaining to uncertainty drift into decisions…although that makes them un-decisions on reflection πŸ€”
The pleasure is all mine 😊

One tries my zany new friend…one tries…I have a question too, if I may be so bold…I gather your book is self published…what route did you take? And who designed the cover?
      Oops..two questions slipped in..my mistake 😊

It is indeed. I used AuthorHouse and wouldn’t necessarily recommend them for a variety of reasons, although the quality of the hard copies is very high. Other than that they just want you to spend inordinate amounts of cash with them for add-on advertising and such. Luckily I have been picked up by Kensington Publishing and my next three books will be released through them – the first of which is imminent! My friend designed the cover, he does all sorts of brilliant design work and is very reasonably priced so seemed like the natural choice. I hope this answers your questions. If you would like more information drop me a line at lucy@verticalrecordings.com and I am happy to go into more detail.

Thank you…I’m awaiting the return of my first book from my proof reader…a form of prevaricating functionality while I go um, err, eh? what next? I looked at that one but opening up Google said lots of bad things…but as a newbie it’s a total minefield…especially indie publishing because most do not wear bowler and seem to prefer hats favoured by the antagonists provoking discord amongst native Americans…’How’s the horse guv?’ Thank you so much for offering to help. Bloggers are so cool in that respect…to think in December I was looking at setting up a blog riddled in self doubt and trepidation at the prospect of just starting…and yet a few months on its turned into the best thing I’ve done in ages…words fail me at times expressing the warmth that comes back to questions…obviously not in this particular missive…which is in danger of going rambly…I will be in touch later. Thank you for your kindness (on topic with my challenge upon that very subject!)

I am very new to this writing lark so I don’t have the benefit of experience to advise anyone but if I can help I am happy to. Yes bloggers are a great bunch and there are many who tirelessly help out chaps such as us. All the very best with your book, you must keep me informed! Rambly is great. It’s a writer thing.

It is πŸ€” I never thought of it as a writer thing…words wanting out…I rather like that πŸ‘» And bloggers…you are most correct…amazing bunches of peoples…like grapes…mash them together, ferment a bit et voila…marvellous…must stop rambling…frogs and boxes…terrible πŸ™ƒ

I feel more at ease and indeed assured that an error in typography ushering my mail unto some unknown person now engaging in reporting spam will not have me sitting in a world of tumbleweed awaiting insight into the whereabouts of inadvertant email….why so am though? I thought that was tinned meat…strange world…😁

Don’t worry – the email arrived safely! πŸ˜€
