A better click-bait title would have been ‘take me to bed with you’, but it wouldn’t be strictly true and you would be taking The Dean to bed too, which might require a stiff drink beforehand.
In any case, here is a quick video of me reading a chapter from the new PorterGirl novel, The Vanishing Lord.
I shall be at the London Book Fair this week, so online activity will be sporadic, although if you find yourself missing my little face, please feel free to keep up with me on Twitter and Facebook. Obviously this week will be a great opportunity for me to work hard in making important contacts and promoting my work. It is certainly not an excuse to go marauding around Kensington in nifty waistcoats, drinking wine and singing rude songs. No.

Dear Lucy, I hope you are well. Thank you for following Satyr Tales!
I have been meaning to send a hand shake for a while but I’m rubbish at this sort of thing. I have really loved your reading stuff. I’m still catching up mind you. Love your characters, love your words and writing, love your sense of humour, love Agatha and love Cambridge (and I miss her dearly)…so, you’re hitting all the sweet spots!
Very much look forward to reading all your portergirl works, just my kind of caper and love the concept.
Write on.

Hello there! What a wonderful message to brighten up this Monday morning, I cannot thank you enough for stopping by and taking the time to introduce yourself. I am delighted to be following your blog and it means a great deal to me that you are enjoying my work. I hope you have a wonderful day and look forward to chatting again. Big hugs! Lucy
And you’re a hugger too! Yay! X
Oh, yes I am a hugger! Gotta love a hug! X
Well I did enjoy that! Particularly imagining your opening; the Dean’s telephonic tirade; you can really see him grabbing a firm hold of that headgear and flinging it about, white tassels shooting everywhere! Now I just want more 🙂
I am pleased that you enjoyed it, hopefully a great start to your day! The Russians will be in touch soon – you have completed the first task with inordinate success. Well done 😉
An excellent start! I’m glad the Russians are pleased; I knew a Russian girl called Mary once you know.
Mary isn’t a very Russian name, but then that’s typical of them. No doubt you and Mary were excellent friends?
It was pretty unpronounceable, but there was the sound of ‘mary’ in it! We got on very well together; haven’t seen her in what seems like ages, but that could change at any moment.
Ah, yes – all those consonants can be a real mouthful. Still, I’m sure Mary didn’t mind – it is a very nice name. You never know when she might pop up again!
Well she does like to get out and about so who knows!
